Security forces have ended the operation while all 7 terrorists have been killed. Twenty-seven people were killed and many others injured in a suicide attack in a mosque when the terrorists attacked a mosque at Parade Lane Peshawar Road in Rawalpindi, Dunya New Friday reported.
According to the reports, a suicide bomber blew himself up in Parade Lane Mosque near Qasim Market area soon after Jumma prayer. The blast was followed by the firing by security personnel deputed at the mosque which hit the attackers. Police and law enforcing agencies reached the scene and cordoned off the area soon after the firing. Snipers had also been deputed on the high-rise buildings in the area, while helicopters hovered overhead throughout the operation. CCPO Rawalpindi has confirmed two blasts.
The area of Qasim Market is considered very sensitive area of Rawalpindi where offices of many sensitive agencies are situated. Helicopters are also monitoring the area after the blast. The injured have been shifted to the hospital. Earlier many people were injured in a blast at Johar Chowk in Rawalpindi on March 16.
On the other hand security has been put on red alter across the county including Islamabad after the incident. |
